Seriously...

I've been watching for news releases about The Concerto since I learned it was being made. Eddie Peng and Lee Wei in the same drama is like an awesome overload. While both have been in one or two idol dramas, they are so far from being idols. They usually prefer deep shows with actual plots, human drama, and a need to actually act. This is why I love them. So few of Eddie's shows were actually subbed by fansubbers because of this. I know, so sad. I love Eddie and Lee Wei's "serious" acting so of course as soon as there were trailers I couldn't help but jump all over it... but now I'm so confused as to what the advertising department is up to.

The first three trailers we dramatic. One focused on Eddie's story arch, one for Lee Wei's arch, and one that had both of them. But the music was dramatic and the shots were emotional. And then... yesterday they released a fourth trailer... and it's the exact opposite. It's got happy music, it's funny, and it makes the show look light hearted.

(  So which is it? Emotional drama? Or cutesy romance? )

Even with ninjas... we are not slouches. Clickeh!

While Aaron proves the emotionless KO and XF characters were NOT actual acting skills in work with yet again the same character (boring much?), Xiao Gui reminds me why I love him. Cute, quirky, an idiot, and everyones bitch... in a way.

While I admit Aaron is nice to look at... his character is a little dry and I found myself motivated by the fun side characters Hui Hong and Fu Hao, much like with Rolling Love (Wasabi and San Ceng are love.). Granted Rolling Love had the added fun of imaging how easy it would be to re-edit the show to make it a gay love story between Jiro and Danson.

The surprise cast members make it fun to watch too. Though I suppose you have to watch as many TWdramas as I do to notice. Just in episode 01 there was the bitchy mix girl from Summer x Summer, I love her. Two of the guys from Bump off Lover (which I just started watching before my FC lol).  I know the girls from KO One and X-Family get cameos later as does Jin Bao San! (I ♥ Bao San.)  It makes me curious to see who else will show up.  For some reason I really want Jason/San Ceng to get a cameo. lol
